KDRV
An Eagle Point area farmer is the first person in the state to be
licensed to grow industrial hemp. It’s the first time the crop has been
grown in Oregon in 70 years. The seeds will have to be imported into
Oregon from another country in order for operations to begin.
State regulators issued the license to Edgar Winters, a long-time
industrial hemp advocate and the COO of Natural Good Medicines, located
in Ruch, Ore. Winters is also the Director of Cannabis Research at
Winterfox Farms.
25 acres is already tilled and ready for industrial hemp growing to begin in Rush.
