Spokesman Bob Doyle said the group started growing industrial hemp in 2008 and want to capitalise on demand.
"We've been looking for an alternative to our current agricultural enterprises," he said.
"A group of us has got together, and we've decided that the potential of the crop is such that it is worthwhile investigating if we can actually do some of the processing ourselves."
